Wood Wednesday: It's Already Too Hot!

Today is the first day of June and I am already too hot to do anything outside the AC and the house. Here in Southeat Texas we have had NO RAIN for 3 months! The grass is all brown.

The slab is pulling away from the house.

It is very hot and very humid. I go outside to look at a project and I just turn around and go back in.
Temperature 82.8 °F  Feels Like 90 °F (that's at 8:00 AM)
Humidity 78% Rainfall 0.00 in
Wind Speed / Dir 0.0 mph from ESE

I have been trying to get used to the heat because tomorrow I will go to Austin to take care of my grandson for 6 days. He LOVES the outside. At least Austin is not as humid. I will try to sit in the swing with some ice water. Maybe AEB will let me join him in his kiddie pool.

Because I will be out of pocket, this will be the last post for at least a week.

  Now Wood Wednesday:
Several months ago a group from church went to an Asian restaurant after church. I have never mastered the use of chopsticks,

so I just take them home. Remember the mantra: NEVER THROW ANYTHING AWAY! On this day, I collected all of the unused chopsticks at our table.

I had in my head to make a sunburst mirror.

That was in my head, which is a scary place to be. Well, with my usual jump right in without a clear plan, I started gluing (hot glue gun) the chop sticks around the edge of an old CD. They did not come out even and the big end was too bulky. So I cut the ends of the chopsticks off and staggered them long and short on the CD. I then glued another CD to the back and sprayed the whole thing gold.

Finally, I glued a 6" craft mirror to the front.

Later I may add some kind of trim around the mirror.

I don't know yet what I will do with this. It does not fit in my house.

See you all later. It's time to play with my wonderful grandson!
