Baby Girl Nursery

Daughter and Son-in-law live in a small town house in Lawton, OK. It is 3 stories: enter to stairs, living room/kitchen and bedrooms/bathroom.

 That is the front door from the top of the stairs! It is treacherous.

This made creating a nursery difficult. On a positive note, there was a very large closet (8'x8') off of the bedroom. They decided this would make a great nursery.

When I arrived for the birth, I just prettied it up a little.

 On the back wall I hung a curtain from the ceiling. I did not have a sewing machine or my fabric, so I went to Walmart and bought 2 flat twin bed sheets for $12. I loosened the edge of the top to insert the curtain rod. Daughter's clothes and storage are behind the curtain.

 She bought the glider with her inheritance from my mother. It will always have special meaning.

 The theme is ladybugs. I made the ladybug quilt from scrapes. PawPaw had the ladybug bear made.

 I bought this quilt and accessories from a friend. On this shelf we put Daughter's collection of bears and larger sized clothes. There is a small table in the corner for a lamp, nightlight, and noise machine.

This is really cute. It projects nursery rhyme characters on the ceiling.

Right outside the nursery/closet is this dresser that belonged to PawPaw's mother. It makes a perfect changing table.

 I also rearranged the furniture on the main level. I used ideas from Nate Berkus and divided the long area into 2 zones. There is now a conversation area and an eating area. It is all baby area.

I put this bookcase in the corner so that there was storage behind. That is where they keep the Pack-n-Play.

We did not work real hard on decorating because they will probably not be in Lawton more than 6 months. Daughter did not want to put a lot of stuff on the walls.

I hope that this arrangement will work well for them until they move.
