I collect frames (most of them are wood).
As I have mentioned before, I consider myself to be an artist. Everything that I create is because I am an artist. I have stopped creating so much wall art because I have run out of wall space.
More of my wall art can be seen in my banner menu Original Wall Art.
So now I need to find something to do with all of those frames. My daughter-in-law is a language arts specialist and loves letters. She really likes an alphabet wall featured on No Money Monday.
I want to create that some way . So here is a start.
This is our last name; B-A-C-O-M
I found the letters using Google Alphabet Images. I put in the search "Letter b images". When I found the one I liked, I saved it and then printed it. (The paper is wood, right?)This one I glued to a piece of scrapbook paper.
This one I printed twice, cut them out and put a little spacer in the middle to make it 3-D.
You can see the 3-D a little better with this one.
This one was so cute, I just framed it.
The M has several layers. I cut out different parts for each layer.
I had fun with this and plan to do the entire alphabet. I will take better pictures and give more detail as I become more accomplished. This was just trial and error. You know about my attention problem. I am also putting up some shelves I found in the trash.
painting another bookcase I pulled out of the trash
and repairing a dresser that was at the curb on trash day.
How can people just throw that stuff away?

Love your art. Love that you are a frame collector...two things I like to do. I also like art. Do it painting and drawing nearly as much as I would like. But that is the way it goes. New follower through the newbie blog hop at Sassy Sites. I would love for you to come over and join me as well. Gonna go tool around your blog.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun thing to do with those letters.
ReplyDeleteThose letters are amazing and I love how you made some of them 3-D. That dresser is lovely, why would someone throw that away? Good finds and thanks for linking up with JFF this week. hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteHow creative! I love the 3D effect on the letters & the finished result. And what a collection of frames/future projects. I'm a new follower!

How neat...that is so creative! I don't know how people can just throw stuff out like that, but I guess the old adage is true that one man's trash is another man's treasure and that's okay with me...I wish I could find some curbside finds...it's been a long while since I have :)
