Last week during our worship service, I painted The Darkest Day during the singing.
On Easter Sunday, I finished "the rest of the story". I do not have very good pictures of the finished painting. But here is what I have.
Next Saturday is our church and school fundraiser.
I am the coordinator, so this week will be crazy again. In May I hope to get back to regular blogging and creating.

Marvelous Monday: Marvelous Worship
Sunday we had a truly MARVELOUS worship time. We have been working through the book of Mark. Today's lesson was on the crucifixion of Christ. For weeks we have been working on a special presentation. I was asked to paint a picture during the service.
As we began to sing "Tell Me the Story of Jesus", I began painting Golgotha, the Place of the Skull, where Jesus was crucified. This was a very dark time for the followers.
Then I added the crosses. Scott did a beautiful and powerful reciting of Psalm 22, "My God, My God, Why have you forsaken me?"
After the darkness of the cross, I began to add the hill and tomb where he was to be buried. The scripture says the earth shook and I add lightning.
Finally at the end of communion, while we sang "He Could Have Called Ten Thousand Angels", I painted the stone in front of the tomb.
After I finished my part for the day, "The Darkest Day",

our minister gave a powerful lesson about God stamping out Satan by sending Jesus.
Next week, on Easter Sunday, we will have
"the rest of the story"
We took a video today, but I can't figure out how to download it to the computer. I will try to add that later. God was with me while I was painting.

Fabric Friday: F.I.G. Festival
If you follow my blog, you know that I live in the small Texas town of Friendswood. When my family moved here in 1954, there were several fig processing plants in town. That is the reason of the name of the festival, but it really stands for Friendswood Is Great!
I have been busy all week preparing things to sell at the craft part of the festival. This is what I have.
Creative Cuddler Towels and Aprons:
Nap Mats:
Boo-Boo Bunnies:
Fabric Flowers:
Customized Quillows:
Pillowcase Dresses:
Egg Wall Hangings:
I will also take the vanity chair and yellow bookcase to sell.

Wood Wednesday: Wood Fun
No your calendar is not wrong. Today is Thursday. Our 20 month old grandson is staying with us this week. Enough said.
It turned cold so he has his feet pajamas on under his clothes, improvised long johns. At least the pj’s have a front end loader on them.
He is one busy boy. I have not had time to do any crafting. I did, however, build a ramp for him to use to roll his trucks. It starts with the lid to an old dog house. (We no longer have a dog, but I knew I might need it.) I put a piece of plywood on some 4x4s and covered it with flooring underlay that I found in the trash. Remember: Never throw ANYTHING away! It’s not pretty, but he loves it.
We heard a neighbor sawing some wood. He was using a handsaw. I dug in the garage an finally found a handsaw. I didn’t know anyone used those any more. I sure don’t. Well, I made the mistake of showing AEB how it works. Now I have had to saw wood several times.
The week has been great and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

There will be NO Fabric Friday.
I will catch you again on Marvelous Monday.

Marvelous Monday: Marvelous Sandwich
No, this is not a recipe.
I am living in the sandwich time of my life: Caretaker to my mother, encourager to my pregnant daughter, and playmate to my grandson. All of this with me in the middle.
Last Thursday our daughter arrived from Oklahoma. She is staying with us for 10 days. Last weekend was my husband’s family reunion and next weekend is my mother’s 90th birthday party. Megan came to attend both events. This was also a great time for our 20 month old grandson to come for a visit. After the reunion he came to our house. His parents will pick him up next weekend. Megan has not seen him in a year.
If that wasn’t enough, my mother called at 4:00am today. Luckily, Brad was getting ready to go on a business trip. My mother said, “Well, I just haven’t talked to you in a while.” I said, “Did you know it is 4:00am?” Of course she didn’t .

Life is good.
I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Fabric Friday: Bunnies
The craziness continues.
Megan arrived from Oklahoma last night and we went to the WRONG airport. We rushed through Final Four Houston traffic to arrive at Hobby Airport at 9:15. No Megan. I went inside and couldn’t find her. I looked at the screen and there was no American Eagle flight from Dallas at 9:00. We parked the car and began investigating.
Luckily, Megan’s husband called. Megan was waiting across town at Houston Bush Airport. Well, thankfully she is home now.
I am doing a craft show April 16th. Because it is the week before Easter, I thought I would add some “Basket Bounty”. You know like stocking stuffers. I was fascinated by Suzanne’s Chick-sicle. It’s a rice-filled cooling bag for kids. I decided to adapt it to be my own by making a "boo-boo-bunny".
It is still in the prototype phase.
I think the nose is too big on the top two. I need to work on the rice stuffing so that the shape is better.
Well, today I have to get ready for my husband’s family reunion tomorrow. Crafting will have to wait until Monday.
